The girls singing in graduation.

Group Ep 26

The final shot of the series

Before the graduation ceremony, Osaka reveals to Chiyo that she suffers from hay fever, so she has to keep tissues and eyedrops with her at all times. Later, at the ceremony, Chiyo is presented with the prize of best academic performance, and brims with joy upon receiving a standing ovation started by Tomo and Osaka. When "Aogeba tōtoshi," the song that marks Japanese high school graduation, is sung, Chiyo is unable to hold back her tears upon remembering that she will have to leave her school behind. Later, Yukari comes into class devastated because she lost her wallet and, while handing out the diplomas, everyone starts contributing with money, though at low quantities. She quickly changes her mood when Nyamo comes with her retrieved wallet however. Nyamo is effusively congratulated by her class for all the work, Kimura bursts into tears when mentioning that the students will leave his company, and Yukari receives a large flower bouquet contributed by every student in her class. Afterwards, Kaorin asks Tomo to take a picture of her with Sakaki and demands a copy be sent to her. While Kagura thinks of obtaining a piece of furniture from the class as a keepsake, Yukari explains that she already has her memories of high school to take with her. Chiyo proposes that everyone goes to the amusement park again as a graduation trip, which Yomi accepts to come to this time, but she feels insulted when Tomo says they should wait after her results come out. When leaving school, Chiyo takes her time to bid it farewell with one last bow. On the day that the entrance exam results are posted, Yomi is initially shocked when Tomo informs her that she did not pass, but Yomi rechecks this and sees that she has been approved along with the others. Finally, as they all head for the train station toward the amusement park, Chiyo realizes that, even after graduation, they will always be together.

Adapted From[]

  • Once again, photos from the Okinawa trip are shown but this time in Chiyo's room.
  • Sakaki refers to all her failed attempts to pet Kamineko when she excuses herself for always trying to.
  • When it's time to sing, Yomi again does a terrible job, irritating those standing close to her (mainly Tomo).
  • Since Yomi couldn't come the last time the girls went to Magical Land due to being sick, Chiyo comes up with the idea of going there again for their graduation trip. On the day of their trip, Chiyo also suggests for them to ride on a roller coaster they tried the last time again.
  • Osaka takes the good luck charm Chiyo gave Yomi and attempts to refill it with her brainpower, because Yomi had yet to see whether she would be accepted into college or not.

Cultural References[]

  • Tomo reads to Yomi from a magazine she brought to school.
  • During the graduation ceremony, the students sing the song "Aogeba Tōtoshi," which is a traditional graduation song about the students' gratitude to the teachers.
  • Tomo takes photos of her friends, probably to remember their graduation day. Kaorin tries to ensure that Tomo will develop the photo of her and Sakaki and send it to her.

Unanswered Questions[]

  • How Yukari lost her wallet, and whom it was that found it and turned it in.
  • How Kimura planned for him and Kaorin to "be together forever."
  • When the students took time to buy Yukari a bouquet.
  • Why Yukari grabbed Chiyo's nose.
  • What Tomo wanted to tell Osaka when she called her after taking Kaorin's and Sakaki's picture.
  • If Yukari went on another vacation with her former students.

Memorable Moments[]

  • Instead of trying to pet Kamineko when she sees it, Sakaki apologizes for always trying to pet it. This confuses Kamineko, who tries to make it seem like it wants Sakaki to pet it, only to bite her again when she tries to.
  • Osaka brings tissues and eye drops to school because of her hay fever. She amuses Kagura greatly with her unusual sneezes.
  • At the graduation ceremony, Chiyo receives an award for being the highest achieving student from the graduating class. A standing ovation started by Tomo and Osaka is the result, moving Chiyo to tears.
  • Chiyo cries because she is so anxious to leave her classmates. Yukari also cries when she sees her students for the last time, but it turns out this was because she had lost her wallet. Osaka comes up with the idea of donating money to Yukari, but this only makes Yukari angry because she thinks she isn't getting enough.
  • Kaorin convinces Tomo to take a picture of her and Sakaki together, but Tomo tilts the camera down. Kaorin screams at her, so Tomo agrees to take a new one.
  • Kagura gets emotional in front of Yukari because she wants to take something back with her to remember her high school days, and Yukari responds that she already has her precious memories to take back with her.
  • Chiyo bows to the school before she leaves it for the last time.
  • The girls find out that Yomi has been accepted into college after all and they happily set off to Magical Land to celebrate their graduation. And thus, the series comes to an end.
