Osaka refers to Autumn as "the stomach season" since it is believed in Japan that one's appetite tends to increase in the fall.

The sports festival of the second year.
During the scavenger hunt, the item Chiyo is supposed to get is an "idiot". Chiyo then grabs Tomo without telling her why, and afterwards rips the piece of paper apart so that Tomo will never find out.
Osaka participates in the obstacle course (and performs terribly) just because she thought it would be fun to stick her face into flour to find a piece of candy.
Here, Tomo mentions that she thinks there should be a bread-eating event during the sports festival, something Osaka takes very seriously and keeps referring to.
Chiyo, Tomo and Osaka – all bad athletes – try to get one, three and five balls into the basket during the ball toss, respectively. But Chiyo is the only one seen accomplishing her goal.
It is here that Kaorin's best friend Chihiro is named for the first time.
Kaorin gets to participate in the three-legged race together with Sakaki, something the former is very grateful for.
