  • Kagura encountered Sakaki when she had bad luck with cats before. Here, she gets to find out that cats always bite Sakaki, as the first character besides Sakaki herself and Chiyo-chichi (as she revealed to him in her New Year's dream).
  • Kimura has called Kaori by her nickname before, and here she complains to him about it.
  • We have found out earlier that Sakaki is a terrible artist which is also shown here from her doodles in the margins.
  • Kagura keeps insisting on driving cats away from Sakaki since she heard about her problem.
  • Yomi talks about one of the advantages of exercising being that you can eat more without getting fat, in reference to her obsession with her weight. Tomo also teases her about this.

Trivia[]

Characters[]

Cultural References[]

  • Kagura and Osaka talk about Osakan stand-up comedy. Osaka also jokingly takes on the tsukkomi (straight man) role when talking with Chiyo-chan.
  • Sakaki draws animals (probably cats) in her school book, and Kagura draws an arrow through the head of one of them.
  • When Yomi shows off her flexibility, Osaka compares her to an octopus.

Unanswered Questions[]

  • Where Chiyo, Yomi and Tomo are going when they start talking about Yomi's teeth.
  • Chiyo talks about something she is currently looking up, but it's unknown what it is.
  • Why Yomi gets a toothache so frequently.
  • If Yomi really did go to the dentist.
  • How it went when Tomo almost got run over by a car.
  • What Kagura wanted to tell Tomo when she called on her.
  • When Osaka presumably got in trouble because her friends were eating everything first when they got barbecue.

Memorable Moments[]

  • Kagura's attempt to drive off the cats who try to bite Sakaki. Sakaki later tries to "face the problem head-on" but without success.
  • Against her will, Kaorin becomes president of Kimura's class. He also suggests she call him "Kimurin".
  • Osaka's decision to become more fit (strong and flexible). However, she can only do one push-up and is incredibly stiff in her body.
