
J.C.Staff Co.,Ltd. (株式会社ジェー・シー・スタッフ Kabushiki-gaisha Jē Shī Sutaffu) is a Japanese animation studio founded in January 1986 by Tomoyuki Miyata, who previously worked at Tatsunoko. Another key worker of theirs is Michihisa Abe. The abbreviation "J.C.Staff" stands for "Japanese Creative Staff." Their first release was the three episode OVA Yōtōden in 1987. They have produced Azumanga Daioh as well as several other well-known anime series, such as Revolutionary Girl Utena, Excel Saga, Shingetsutan Tsukihime, Shakugan no Shana, Toaru Majutsu no Index, Toaru Kagaku no Railgun, Honey and Clover, Alien Nine, Toradora!, Zero No Tsukaima, Ikki Tousen, Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo, and numerous others.
Since 2005, the majority of their works have been directed by Takashi Watanabe, Ken'ichi Kasai, and Yoshiaki Iwasaki. The company suffered some damage during the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake. J.C.Staff has also worked on a number of video games. Their headquarters is in Musashino, Tokyo.
